This skin growth is caused by Human Papilloma Virus and the virus lies dormant in the body, just waiting for the right trigger to flare up. Millions of people are affected by HPV and around 50% of sexually active people are infected by the hpv virus at some point in their lives. So it is important to know how to prevent an outbreak.

An outbreak may appear as skin growth or bumps in clusters. They are sometimes flat and sometimes raised skin growth that appears around the vagina, on the penis and anus. They may go away after sometime but they have the tendency to come back.

Those sexually active women can still benefit from this vaccine to prevent them from getting other types of HPV.

• Stay in a monogamous relationship. Sexually active people who have different partners are highly at risk to get the virus. To prevent catching an infection and it spreading, be monogamous as much as possible. Staying with a faithful partner who is not yet infected by the virus is safer.

•  Boost your immune system . People with weak immune systems are more likely to catch the virus because they have weak anti-bodies to fight the virus. If you are healthy and strong, occurrence is less frequent or it may not occur again.

• Practice safe sex. Use protection like condoms but you have to know that condoms provide limited protection and the virus can be transmitted through intercourse or oral sex. As much as possible do not engage in sexual contact with a person with visible genital growths. If you are the one infected, abstain from sexual contact until the warts or infection is cured.

HPV Warts – Do I have Them?

HPV outbreaks are any of the small benign tumors caused by one of the hundred or so human papillomavirus (hpv) viruses.

They are harmless for the most part but can impact a person’s quality of life negatively by marring his or her appearance. They will often cause discomfort, pain, and sometimes bleeding. They are often highly contagious. However you can’t catch genital warts from things like a towel, door handle, or toilet seat

All are HPV warts and are caused by one or another of the HPV viruses. Children and younger people are more likely than adults to display them. The more common types affecting the young often appear on fingers and hands. Adults, by contrast, are more likely to become infected by genital and plantar warts.

These  genital HPV warts are tenacious and often recur. An individual can pass the virus to another individual through sexual contact, without either person being conscious of it. The virus can remain dormant in the recipient, who then passes it on to yet another individual, and so on.

The plantar variety appears on the weight-bearing parts of the feet, the soles and toes. Public areas with moist surfaces, such as public showers and swimming pool areas, are breeding grounds for these viruses. The plantar viruses can remain active on these surfaces for long periods of time. Never walk barefoot in these public areas.

How do you know if you have them?

Surprisingly, people will often mistake cancerous moles, calluses skin tags, or corns for warts.

Skin tags are a small piece of skin which hangs off the body and is often irregular in shape. Warts are more rounded and have a different texture  to skin tags and can appear as small cauliflower-like bumps that can appear anywhere on your body. They have a rough surface, even borders, and can be flattened or bumpy. Tiny blackened marks from surface capillaries may be visible.

One thing that distinguishes them from corns, calluses or skin tags is the absence of regular skin lines across this growth’s surface; there is no continuation of the normal skin line pattern.

Another distinguishing feature is that they can occur singly or grouped together in what’s known as a mosaic wart pattern. They can range in color from pale pink to grayish or any variation of regular human skin color. They are shallow growths, lacking roots that run down to the bone.

The propensity to pass on the HPV viruses and to infect others or spread to other parts of the body are good reasons to  get rid of warts . There are various ways to do this, but of course, taking measures to prevent their spread will be of benefit to all..

You can help to prevent the spread of HPV warts by practising basic good skin care and avoiding contact with infected skin or potentially infected public surfaces like showers or swimming pools. Keeping one’s skin clean and healthy is imperative as healthy skin forms an effective barrier to infection. Damaged skin can create an opening for harmful bacteria and viruses.

Regardless of how careful you are, however, you may be predisposed, or more vulnerable than the average person. Fortunately, you have options. A few papilloma viruses are known to cause cervical cancer. There are five kinds of warts. They look different and form on different parts of the body. Common warts grow most often on the hands, but they may be anywhere on the body.

Plantar warts rise on the soles of the feet. They seem like difficult, dense patches of rind with blue specks. Plantar warts may induce pain when you walk, and you may look like you are stepping on a pebble. Flat warts normally rise on the cheek, weaponry, or legs. They are tiny (normally smaller than the eraser on the conclusion of a pencil), have thin tops, and can be pink, soft brown, or soft yellow. Filiform warts normally rise around the lip, nose, or beard region. Periungual warts arise under and around the toenails and fingernails. They seem like bumpy bumps with a spotty surface and edge. They can impact nail growth.

Most folk produce warts at some time in their lives, normally before the age of 20. About 1 in 10 folk in the UK have warts at any one moment. Genital warts are the most prevalent sexually transmitted transmission (STI) in the UK. There are several distinct  treatments used for the handling of warts . Laser therapy is used to kill some types of warts. Lasers are more costly and need the injection of a local anesthesia to numb the region treated. Electrosurgery (curettage & cautery) is used for especially big and irritating warts. Immunotherapy, done by injecting a content that causes a hypersensitive response, may too be considered by your physician. There is wart freeze treatments and creams.

Some home treatment suggestions for wart removal

Soak a tiny slice of cotton in aloe gel and tape over the wart. Add much gel every three hours with a small dropper. Take a ready banana, peel and cut a slice and use the flesh and  position to the stricken region and tape firmly. The light-colored emission from milkweed is used internationally to handle wart removal. Apply immediately from plant or take topical creams. Leave the peel on except when bathing, changing daily. This cure may go several months. Apply lemon juice to the wart and rub in lightly. Repeat two or three times daily. Rub a piece of sweet pineapple on the wart. Keep applying often, as needed.
