Warts are harmless growths which are small in size. They are the result of a viral infection caused by the Human Papilloma Virus family. There are nearly 60 different varieties of the Human Papilloma Virus. Each type prefers a particular part of the body.

Warts normally occur on the skin or on the mucous membrane. Warts can spread from one part of the body to the other and from one person to the other.

Wart Removal – Wart Cure

As such warts are quite a common problem with children, young adults and women. Normally the virus enters the body through the skin or mucous membrane. Symptoms of warts do not occur for at least 1 to 8 months of infection.

The various types of warts are distinguished by the places on the body where they appear. They are:

  • Hand Warts: These grow on the fingers, around the nails and the backs of hands. Often they appear where the skin is broken.
  • Foot Warts or Plantar Warts: These appear on the balls of the feet, the heels and the bottoms of the toes.
  • Flat Warts: These can appear anywhere on the body. These are smaller, smoother and flatter compared to other warts. Also they appear in large numbers on the surface of the body.
  • Genital Warts: This is a form of a sexually transmitted disease and is passed on during sexual activity.

When the Human Papiloma Virus infection spreads and infects the person, certain symptoms begin to show up. The symptoms of warts include the appearance of small bumps on the surface of the skin, which if left untreated can spread some more, grow up to an inch in size and cause a lot of pain. Often these bumps appear in clumps or groups. The surface of the warts may also be scaly at times.

Wart Removal: Wart Cure And Wart Treatment

Wart removal is often quite a simple procedure. Therefore, one must show the warts to one’s doctor immediately after they are seen. If the warts remain untreated for a long time, then it becomes more complicated to treat them. There are also a variety of home remedies or alternative treatments for wart cure and wart removal.

Several wart treatment measures are over the counter treatments and medications. These over the counter treatments are usually in form of lotions or ointments. They help remove the skin where the warts have appeared. At the end of the treatment, the skin with the warts simply falls off, effecting a cure.

Alternative remedies include several products or treatments like plasters which cause the skin to become moist and even saturated with water. This causes the skin layer to peel off, taking the wart with it.

Another method of treatment is with the use of duct tape. The warts are kept loosely covered with duct tape for several weeks which causes the warts and the skin to come off.

There are a variety of home remedies or alternative treatment measures for wart cure. One of the most well known methods is the application of vitamin E to the skin surrounding the wart, and then crushing a clove of raw garlic and placing it on the wart. The area is then covered with an adhesive bandage. The garlic causes a blister to form and then the wart falls off within a week.

Another home remedy involves chopping a raw onion. Cover the chopped onion with salt and leave this dish covered overnight. A juice will form. The next day apply this juice on the warts. Do this twice a day till the warts disappear. Applying the juice of the stems of fig trees and leaves has also been known do the trick.

However, there are also other methods of wart treatment and wart cure which can be done by a doctor. One of them is cryosurgery. In this process, the tissue is frozen using liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen normally has a temperature of 330 Degrees Fahrenheit or 200 Degrees Celsius. Applying the liquid nitrogen to the affected skin causes the tissues to freeze. This helps the doctor to remove the frozen tissue which has been infected by the warts. The area then heals fairly quickly.

Another method used by the doctors is called electrocautery. In this process, an electric needle is used to burn off the wart. This ends up killing the tissue around the warts, thus helping the doctor to peel off the skin tissue along with the warts on it.

Laser surgery for wart removal also works on the same principle. The Laser beam aims at the area of the wart and the heat ends up killing the skin around the wart. The skin, along with the wart then simply falls off.

Genital warts and Foot Warts are comparatively more difficult to cure and heal. The reason is that they need specialized treatments and often the virus remains within the skin even if the wart falls off. Therefore the cure also includes chemical treatments for killing off the virus as well.

Wart Treatment: Wart Prevention

Prevention is the best cure. The only way to prevent warts is to maintain a good hygiene and a balanced diet. The vitamins A, C and E help make the immune system stronger. This can also help one to not get infected with warts.
